Polaris Approved for ORANZ National Off-Road Racing Series

New One-Model Entry Class Set to Boost Motorsport Participation in New Zealand

Polaris is proud to announce its official approval by the Off-Road Association of New Zealand (ORANZ) to support the development of a dedicated one-model, entry-level racing class within the National Off-Road Racing Series. This collaboration marks a significant step toward expanding grassroots off-road motorsport by creating an accessible pathway for new drivers across New Zealand. The initiative is designed to encourage participation, strengthen community engagement, and provide aspiring racers with an affordable and competitive introduction to the sport.

The Polaris RZR XP 1000 Sport has been confirmed as the approved vehicle for the new class. With its 114-horsepower non-turbo engine, 64-inch stance, and True On-Demand all-wheel drive system, the RZR XP 1000 Sport offers a balanced combination of power, capability and reliability—making it ideally suited for competitive off-road racing. Its proven performance record ensures that all competitors begin on equal footing, reinforcing the integrity of the one-model racing concept.

To support ORANZ members entering the new class, Polaris will offer exclusive purchase benefits, including a 10% discount on the RZR XP 1000 Sport (RRP inc. GST: $33,495) and a 20% discount on genuine Polaris parts and accessories. Competitors will also receive a customised Polaris 3m x 3m pit tent, along with Polaris Cup branding for both vehicles and race suits, ensuring a professional and cohesive appearance throughout the paddock.

The new class will be structured around two distinct competitions: the Polaris Short Course Cup and the Polaris Enduro Cup. Both formats will culminate in trophies for first, second and third place, recognising outstanding achievement and fostering healthy competition within the community. While the official race schedule is still being finalised, Polaris encourages prospective competitors, industry partners and media to stay tuned for upcoming announcements as preparations for the inaugural season progress.
